By using EmailCheck.dev, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using EmailCheck.dev's API or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations.
2. Description of Service
EmailCheck.dev provides an email validation API that checks email addresses for validity, syntax errors, deliverability, and other quality metrics.
3. Account Registration
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and API keys
- You must be at least 18 years old to use our service
- One person or entity may only create one account
4. Acceptable Use
You MAY:
- ✅ Validate emails for legitimate business purposes
- ✅ Integrate our API into your applications
- ✅ Use the demo endpoint for testing
- ✅ Cache validation results for reasonable periods
You MAY NOT:
- ❌ Abuse, overload, or disrupt our infrastructure
- ❌ Resell or redistribute our API access without permission
- ❌ Use our service for illegal purposes
- ❌ Attempt to reverse engineer our validation logic
- ❌ Share your API keys with others
- ❌ Circumvent rate limits or usage restrictions
- ❌ Use automated tools to abuse the demo endpoint
5. Usage Limits and Billing
Free Plan
- 100 email validations per month
- 10 requests per minute rate limit
- No credit card required
Paid Plans
- Billing is monthly, in advance
- Unused validations do not roll over to the next month
- You can upgrade or downgrade at any time
- Refunds are provided on a case-by-case basis
- All prices are in USD
Overage
If you exceed your monthly limit, additional requests will be rejected until you upgrade your plan or wait for the next billing cycle.
6. Payment Terms
- Payments are processed through Stripe
- You authorize us to charge your payment method for the selected plan
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled
- You can cancel anytime; service continues until the end of the billing period
- We may change prices with 30 days notice
7. Data and Privacy
Paid API Users
- We do NOT store the emails you validate
- Your data is validated and immediately discarded
- We only track usage counts for billing purposes
Demo Users
- Demo requests are logged anonymously for 7 days
- Logging is for abuse prevention only

8. Service Availability
- We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee it
- We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice
- We are not liable for service interruptions
9. Intellectual Property
- EmailCheck.dev and all related materials are our property
- You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works
- API responses remain our intellectual property
- You retain ownership of data you submit to the API
10. Termination
You may terminate by:
- Cancelling your subscription
- Deleting your account
We may terminate if you:
- Violate these terms
- Abuse the service
- Fail to pay (for paid plans)
- Engage in fraudulent activity
Upon termination, your API keys will be deactivated immediately.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We do not guarantee:
- 100% accuracy of email validation results
- Uninterrupted service availability
- Error-free operation
- Compatibility with all systems
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months
- We are not responsible for data loss, business interruption, or lost profits
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims arising from:
- Your use of the service
- Your violation of these terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
14. Changes to Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. We will:
- Notify you via email for significant changes
- Update the "Last Updated" date
- Give you 30 days notice for material changes
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Pennsylvania.
